Ser Serpas, Kunsthalle Basel, and JRP|Editions are proud to unveil “Untitled”, a series of unique monotypes by Ser Serpas.⁠ Serpas produced this series of unique monotypes in rapid succession utilizing vibrant colors in an expressionistic and gestural manner to create an image of a single figure looking down at the ground. The inspiration behind the figure is based on an image the artist generated on the AI platform, Craiyon LLC. The characteristics of the figure are obscured, particularly in the face—its grimacing expression at once intelligible while also not constant and shifting in space as if seen in a dream or hallucination. This special project has been conceived in support of Ser Serpas’s forthcoming publication, offering collectors an opportunity to acquire an original work while contributing to the broader celebration of her practice.
