What happens when minimalist forms meet objects that carry the cruel history of colonialism within? And what happens when these objects are snatched from their time and brought into the present through the direct comparison with a model?
Kunsthalle Basel invites all passionate artists and art enthusiasts—beginner, professional, or anywhere in between—to grab paper and pencil and explore the movement of a life model between the artworks of Matthew Angelo Harrison in a creative way. In this way, we not only explore the language of form, but also reflect on our use of African artifacts and paraphernalia from workers’ labor unions.
