Social Muscle Club

We are pleased to invite you to the Social Muscle Club at Kunsthalle Basel. The Social Muscle Club is an international art project that traces its roots to a Workers Club in Sheffield that was founded in 1938 by two dozen friends with the goal of fostering entertainment and social assistance. There was dancing, laughing, entertainment, and a great motivation to help each other. Therefore, we dedicate our evening at Kunsthalle Basel to the same virtues—with each of us contributing what she or he can do best.

Following the footsteps of Joseph Beuys and his vision – the so called Social Sculpture – that art can shape and change society, the Social Muscle Club comes to Kunsthalle Basel. On Friday, November 4, 2016 we want to get to the bottom of his famous quote “The studio is in-between the people” so come by, bring your friends and train your social muscles with us! You will learn how at the Social Muscle Club.

As there are only a limited number of seats, registration via email to Claudio Vogt () is required.
