Somewhere between abstraction and figuration, language and gesture, the artistic approach of Michaela Eichwald unfolds. On thickly-layered surfaces made of unconventional substrates open up colorful, multifaceted worlds. A model tries to fit into these very worlds and enter into a moving dialogue with the artist’s works. The experimental materials of the paintings additionally challenge the viewer to break open their own drawing materials and give new meaning to the surface.
