In what will be his largest show to date, Raphael Hefti (*1978), known for his experimental methods, will present several new, immersive, site-specific bodies of work. The Swiss artist’s multi-ton, extreme-aged, and high voltage answers to the conventions of painting and sculpture celebrate the potential of material volatility and even failure, across the five downstairs spaces of Kunsthalle Basel.

Due to the measures in place to reduce the spread of the coronavirus, we are refraining from a public opening event and instead offer a weekend of free admission to Hefti’s new exhibition:
Friday, October 9, 2020, 11 am to 6 pm
Saturday, October 10, 2020, 11 am to 5 pm
Sunday, October 11, 2020, 11 am to 5 pm
