Together with visitors and young art enthusiasts, we take a look at the past and future of the regional and national art scene at Kunsthalle Basel. Our new augmented reality app, Art Angles, offers a glimpse into the institution’srich exhibition history, while also providing a platform for temporary projects by young art enthusiasts who want to share their thoughts on current exhibitions with the public.
Art Angles is an opportunity to become better acquainted with Kunsthalle Basel’s permanent collection and its exhibition history: Who knows the background to the creation of the six character heads that greet visitors in the foyer? Who remembers the presentation of Monet’s Water Lilies in the same rooms? And who remembers the thoughts that Barbara Kruger once placed under the stairs to the upper floor?
These little anecdotes are brought to life through augmented reality, offering a direct glimpse into the past.
Download the app from the Appstore and experience augmented reality in our rooms or at home.
If you do not have an Apple device, please ask our front desk.
However, we are always looking to the present and the future: once a year, young people can add their own individual contributions to the existing app for a selected exhibition, sharing their thoughts and perceptions with visitors.
Stay tuned for more information on the expansion of the app!
Enjoy the augmented reality experience!
