Contemporary art raises questions, provokes and inspires. At the Kunsthalle Basel we are developing a programme of educational initiatives and learning-based events in conjunction with each of our exhibitions, based around the major themes of the presentation. As well as offering public and private guided tours for adult visitors, we are strongly committed to making contemporary art accessible to younger audiences. The emphasis of our educational programming is on participation and discussion, encouraging children and young people to experience the artworks at first hand and in an individual way.

Working closely with teachers and schools (primary and secondary level), we regularly organise age-appropriate projects that are carried out over an extended period of time. We welcome enquiries, ideas and suggestions from educators and will do our best to fulfil all individual requests. A key objective of our educational activities is to integrate people with disabilities, and to this end we regularly devise and run workshops aimed at meeting their specific needs.
