In 1995–96 Franz West taught at the School for Artistic Photography in Vienna, founded by Friedl Kubelka. In collaboration with students and on the occasion of his exhibition at Kunsthalle Basel in 1996, West designed an edition consisting of a series of hand-painted cardboard boxes (each signed by West). Their fronts are adorned with differently colored collages, and each containing nine black-and-white photographs by Kubelka (signed by the artist) showing West and his artworks.
