You are invited to participate in a guided tour every Sunday at 12 noon and every second Thursday at 6:30pm.

The director or staff members of Kunsthalle Basel will take you through the exhibition providing insight into some of the key aspects of the works on display.

Upon request we organize exclusive guided tours of our exhibitions.

Costs: CHF 150.00 plus reduced admission price

Outside our opening times: all-inclusive price of CHF 500.00 covering supervisory and admissions staff (including guided tour and individual admissions)

Art from the age of 16 onwards

Young people guide through Kunsthalle Basel.

Together with the artists and the team of Kunsthalle five pupils have worked out a guided tour through the exhibition and the exhibition building.

I spy with my little eye!

Guided tour for children aged from 5 to 10 years

On a varied tour, children discover the exhibition and observe the selected art works in a playful way. Simultaneously to the guided tour for children, a guided tour for adults takes place.

Student Discount

Guided tours from and for young people who are interested in art

Students of the Kunsthistorisches Seminar of the University of Basel and of the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst offer guided tours through the current exhibitions. Young people who are interested in art have the opportunity to discover contemporary art in a relaxed atmosphere and have inspiring discussions.

Introductions for school classes of the Mittel- and Oberstufen

In a brief introduction, students of the Kunsthistorisches Seminar of the University of Basel give an insight into the current exhibitions.

Introductions for teachers

At the beginning of each exhibition, there is an introduction specifically for teacher at all levels of education. The team of the art education not only provides information on the current exhibitions and the specific events offered as part of our art education programme but also great inspiration for the classroom. One of the aims of these introductions is to encourage teachers to guide their classes through the exhibition themselves and to integrate the themes of the art works on display with the topics discussed in class.

‘Children guide children through the Kunsthalle’

Guided tours of children for children through the exhibition of Pedro Barateiro

Together with peers, children can discover the exhibition and learn more about how the artist Pedro Barateiro works. The tour will be carefully prepared and made in dialogue with the artist by pupils of the Orientierungsschule Basel.
